Description

Creature from the Black Lagoon Bally, 1992

VPX Table by: fuzzel, flupper1, rothbauerw Creature from the Black Lagoon Bally, 1992

It runs in regular table mode and VR; settings are in the script.

V1.2:. Adjustments by Tomate: New metal plates for the ramps, a new, less faceted prim for the upper right metal wall (I modified the VPX wall, too), and new metal textures.

For VR: I added animated flipper buttons for VR (it’s the little things). Backglass now runs B2S files. Be sure to disable grills, DMD, and B2S DMD in B2S settings (right-click the backglass on the screen). It runs in regular desktop mode and VR Room. Edit the script to VRRoom = 1 for VR Minimal Room.

Updated to the table: There is an issue with the center lane (drive-through lane) and ramps, so the ball doesn’t always drain center, and it is more like the real table.

Table rebuild by Sixtoe (updated ramps with lighting and asset changes, along with timer adjustments, along with other many miscellaneous items)

Creature from the Black Lagoon Pinball

John Trudeau (“Dr.Creature created the Creature from the Black Lagoon pinball machine, which Midway (under the Bally brand name) released. The game is loosely based on the movie of the same name and has a theme of a 1950s drive-in theater.

Its major feature is a holographic creature set in the middle of the playfield. The creature lights up and waves its “hand” back and forth during multiball play. The holograph is set behind a green plastic insert, so the monster appears green. Bally obtained a license from Universal Studios to use their artwork on the backglass of the game. The cabiCreatureork and the creature looked like the original movie actors and monsters.

Game Features:

  • Flippers (2),
  • Pop bumpers (3),
  • Ramps (2),
  • Vertical up-kickers (2),
  • Kick-out holes (2),
  • 2-ball Multiball,
  • Whirlpool ball funnel, Video mode. The Hologram of the Creature appears below the playfield and lights up at certain times.
